Recently, Guo Yuanyuan, host of the Industrial and Financial Circle special program on Xinhuanet, conducted an exclusive interview with post-90s entrepreneur Li Jingyuan. During the interview, Li Jingyuan looked back on his entrepreneurial choices and mental journey. He graduated from the Industrial Design major of Zhejiang University in 2015, a time when China was encouraging technology-based startups with high social attention. Coupled with his personal observation of the popularization of 3D printing technology during his overseas study, while the domestic market was still a blank slate, he resolutely returned to China and devoted himself to the independent R&D of 3D printing equipment from scratch.
In the initial stage of entrepreneurship, Li Jingyuan partnered with a supportive teacher and started with an initial capital of 300,000 yuan. The company adopted a full-chain business model and focused on the blue-ocean track of food 3D printing. Its products cover leisure snacks (such as cultural and creative chocolate and sugar paintings for scenic spots) and functional foods, which have been successfully applied in various cultural tourism and commercial scenarios including Haidilao and museums, achieving an innovative integration of technology and traditional culture.
Looking to the future, Li Jingyuan believes that 3D printing is not only a manufacturing technology, but also an important path to realize personalized customization and drive the transformation of production paradigms. He is convinced that with technological iteration and cost reduction, everyone may become a product creator in the future. For him, entrepreneurship is not merely about achieving commercial success, but more about doing things that are “interesting, meaningful and valuable to society”. Rejecting involution and plagiarism, and adhering to improving the quality of life through innovation, this is also his long-term commitment inspired by Musk’s “First Principles”.
